Compliance & Regulatory

Compliance encompasses the growing number of regulations that businesses must adhere to in order to operate successfully.

For many companies, navigating compliance can be complex and overwhelming. CO:PLAY serves as your trusted guide through the regulatory landscape—whether dealing with broadly applicable rules or industry-specific requirements.

Effective compliance advisory goes beyond just knowing the regulations; it requires a deep understanding of your business. At CO:PLAY, this insight forms the foundation of our consulting approach, ensuring compliance adds real value to your operations.

Our areas

GDPR

In an increasingly globalized and digital society, personal data plays a major role. Personal data regulation affects all companies, organizations and authorities, making it a discipline that must be mastered by everyone. Many process, store and disclose personal data without considering the necessary procedures. The area is subject to extensive regulation, especially the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and there is intensive enforcement of compliance.

CO:PLAY's team has extensive experience in advising everything from large international companies to local Danish companies, organizations and authorities on how to meet the requirements of GDPR and become compliant. This can be implementation of security measures, mapping of data flows, compliance analyses, handling data breaches, action plans, etc.

CO:PLAY offers a number of special GDPR products, including DPO service (get a professional and cost-effective handling of the data protection officer requirement).

If you want to know more, please contact Christian Wiese Svanberg, who is responsible at CO:PLAY for GDPR.

  • Good marketing practice and business practice
  • E-mail marketing and other direct marketing
  • Environment and ethics in marketing (greenwashing)
  • Use of personal data in marketing
  • Influencer marketing
  • Consumer Contract Act

CO:PLAY's team is often used to conduct courses and presentations on marketing regulations. If you want to know more, please contact Line Forsberg Pointinger who is responsible for Marketing at CO:PLAY.

Financial regulation

At CO:PLAY, we have extensive experience advising companies that leverage new technologies to develop and market financial services.

The financial services industry is highly regulated while also being driven by rapid technological advancements. Market participants must ensure strict compliance with applicable regulations, and in many cases, a license from the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) is required before launching a service.

CO:PLAY assists Danish companies in obtaining the necessary licenses from the Danish FSA, as well as international companies seeking to enter the Danish market using a license from another EU country.

We also help assess whether an activity requires an FSA license and assist in structuring and managing ongoing compliance tasks efficiently, ensuring they align with your business operations.

If you want to learn more about financial regulation, please contact Laurine Støve Larsen, who is responsible for Financial Regulation at CO:PLAY.

Corporate housekeeping

CO:PLAY helps companies comply with all regulatory requirements so that the framework for your business is in place. It is in particular limited liability companies (e.g. private limited companies and public limited companies) which are subject to regulatory requirements.

CO:PLAY assists amongst others with:

  • Application for and maintenance of necessary business licences and authorisations
  • Establishment of the framework for the management of the company (e.g. rules of procedure and management instructions)
  • Management of the company's capital requirements, including capital losses, capital departures (e.g. distributions and capital reductions) and capital inflows
  • Conduct of shareholder meetings, board meetings and general meetings and necessary minutes and registration
  • Keeping a register of owners and registering ownership in public registers

Shareholders must be aware of decisions that may affect the welfare of the company. These may be decisions on mergers, acquisitions and liquidation that should not be implemented until shareholders have voted.
