It is necessary to verify your email when creating a MEO account. This is done to increase the security of your account and ensure that we have a valid and verified account that we can use to contact you.
Sometimes the email does not appear in your email account. In these cases, make sure to follow this guide:
1. First, check that the email address is correct.
2. Next, check your spam folder. Many email clients aggressively filter emails that are not spam.
3. If these steps have not helped, you can click "Cancel" and try again. Please note that if you cancel the code, it will become invalid. Only the latest code will be valid.
- Before canceling, we recommend waiting up to 8 hours as some systems may quarantine emails before releasing them to the inbox. Please keep the window open to prevent the code from becoming invalid.
There are three ways to view your information and who has access to it:
1. You have access to all your information - access the following https://app.meo.io/me/#/home to see it.
2. You can see all your consents here: https://app.meo.io/me/#/consents/all
3. You can see all your data shares here: https://app.meo.io/me/#/shares/all
Yes. A request for information, especially company information, can be forwarded to the right person (e.g. if you are not the intended recipient).
You can also forward a request for personal verification if you have a legal guardian or a secretary with access to your personal information and documents.
Deletion of a consent is managed in your MEO account through the following process:
1. Go to https://app.meo.io/me/#/consents/all (requires login)
2. Select the company and the consent you want to delete
3. Click the 3-dot menu on the consent and select either "Withdraw consent" or "Terminate consent".
- By clicking "Withdraw consent", the company in question will receive a notification that you want to withdraw your consent. The company will perform any necessary processing as a result and then accept your withdrawal.
Please note that withdrawal and/or termination of consent may have consequences for your relationship with the company.
The primary way to give consent is through the MEO widget. This is how 99.9% of consents using the MEO system are created.
Starting a consent process
You will start by getting a link to begin the process. There are a couple of ways this link can appear:
1. A unique link will be sent through your email address. This is the most common method to start a consent data sharing process.
2. You can also receive a general link to a landing page. Here the link will lead to an MEO widget implemented in the web domain of the company you are engaging with. Always make sure that the domain is correct and that the URL has a small padlock to verify the authenticity of the domain.
3. The last option is to receive a link to the MEO welcome page. Here is the widget on the MEO domain. Make sure the link leads to the www.meo.io.com domain.
Creating a consent
Once you have started the process, create a MEO account (or log in to your existing account) and then follow the wizard.
Please note that there is a confirmation step before the actual consent is given! When you are done, a checkmark will appear with a message saying "Consent given". You can always view your consents at https://app.meo.io/me/#/consents/all.
There are two ways to share your data when using MEO:
-Consent (structured sharing to companies)
If you have been requested to share your data by a company, it is likely to be through a structured consent.
- Data sharing (private and free sharing via unique link to email)
Data sharing is an additional option that you can use when you are already a user on the MEO platform.
If in doubt, you are probably looking for how to share data through consent.
Sharing data through consent
If you are sharing with a company, start the sharing process through the MEO widget. The widget can either be placed on the receiving company's website or on the MEO website.
You will have received an email from the company requesting to share your personal information. The email has a link at the bottom of the message. You need to start the process from this email.
Onceyou have started the process, create a MEO account (or log in if you already have one). Once logged in, follow the instructions, which vary from company to company and are based on their data requirements.
If you can't find the email to start from, we recommend that you contact the company and ask them to send it to you again. The process cannot be started if you do not have the unique link.
Sharing data via a data share
Sharing data can also be done via your MEO account. You can start a data share here: https://app.meo.io/me/#/shares/all
A data share can be shared with anyone via a unique link or an email. We recommend the link and password through two different means (e.g. email and SMS) for added security.
To verify your ID document, there are a few points to consider.
1. Have only the relevant information area in the photo
- If you take a photo of your passport, make sure that only the information page of the passport is in the photo. The same goes for driving licenses and health cards. You want to have the border of the image.
2. All text must be sharp, clear and readable
- The text must be crisp so that it is easy to read the different text elements. Note that text throughout the image must be sharp.
3. Avoid obstacles in the image
- No objects should cover elements in the image. It is especially important that no text or security elements are blocked. A common mistake is to cover elements with your fingers, so pay extra attention to this.
4. No glare or reflections
- Be careful with lighting conditions when taking a picture of your documents. Lighting is a common reason why images cannot be verified. Ideally, you should take the photo in a well-lit area.
5. Use a simple background for the image
- Make sure to use a plain background that ideally contrasts with the edges of your document (so it's easy for a system to distinguish where the document edges are). We recommend placing the document on a single color tabletop when taking the image.
6. The document must be valid (i.e. not expired)
- When you verify a document, the system also checks the content of the document. For example, if the expiration date has been reached, the document is also considered invalid.
How to verify your phone:
1. Make sure you have selected the correct country (either by selecting the country from the drop-down menu or entering the country code (e.g. starting with "+45")
2. Enter the rest of your phone number and click "Verify". A text message will then be sent to your phone number.
3. Enter the code from the message and press "Verify".
If you have trouble verifying your phone number:
Check the following cases:
1. Is the phone number correct?
2. Is the phone number a cell phone? Make sure you use a phone number that can receive text messages via SMS.
3. Are you receiving multiple text messages and the system says the verification code is wrong? Then wait 2 minutes. Click "send verification code" once and wait 5 minutes for the message to arrive.
If none of the above solutions are working, please contact our technical support on the help button or by sending an email to care@meo.io.
A "consent" on the MEO platform should be considered a consent to share a package of data. This package of data is then grouped and shared to a company with your explicit consent. MEO can therefore be considered a consent management system. You can manage your consents (to your data) through MEO.
You can manage your consents through your MEO account at:
https://app.meo.io/me/#/consents/all.
The primary way to give consent is through the MEO widget.
