Strong sector knowledge and focus on areas such as technology, media and entertainment will continue to be the focal point when one of the highly specialized law firms in the legal profession establishes itself under its own name and brand. With effect from 1 March, partners, lawyers, legal and administrative staff in Synch Danmark will establish themselves under the new name CO:PLAY.

The launch comes after a busy 2020, with more new hires and revenue growth of 25%. There has been a marked increase in the demand for the Danish tech lawyers' special sector knowledge. A knowledge that has been sought after parts in the wake of the challenges that the Corona pandemic has brought to several companies and industries in Denmark and internationally and partly due to globalisation and digitalisation raises increasingly complicated legal problems.

"2020 has brought limitations and major challenges for many companies, while others have experienced growth and progress as a result of the Corona pandemic. In both situations, we have been able to assist our clients, and this has given us strong progress in 2020, which has given us extra belief that there is a need for advisors with strong sector knowledge" says Michael Brandt, Managing Partner at CO:PLAY.

Growth and community of values

The establishment of CO:PLAY follows Synch Danmark announcing a merger with Integra Advokater in early 2020. A merger based on a mutual professional and value foundation, as well as a common approach to customers based on legal core competencies within IT law, privacy and intellectual property law.

But the merger was also largely based on a vision to establish and develop a law firm based on a business-driven and sector-based approach to clients to offer the industry's strongest advice in sectors such as technology, media and entertainment.

"The merger, and the successful integration of the two law firms, has given us greater machine power and a delivery muscle, which enables us to handle more tasks for more clients in Denmark and internationally. We have experienced a professional and valued community and an increasing desire to realize our vision together," says Michael Brandt, managing partner of CO:PLAY, and continues: "When we have chosen a brand as markedly different as CO:PLAY for the legal profession, it is because it so accurately expresses how we work with our clients. We see ourselves as an extra player on the field with customers, a player who knows their business, understands the terms of their industry, and advises as if it were our own business. A CO:PLAYER."

Organisation

CO:PLAY will continue to run the company from the iconic Tuborg building in Hellerup , where there is room for the new hires that are in the pipeline. CO:PLAY currently includes 7 partners, 11 lawyers and legal staff, as well as 3 employees in administrative functions.
